Just a quick tip for those of you who don't already do this, we're coming up to the time in a few weeks for free fruit between now and september. Find out where the local walks are that have blackberry bushes, raspberries etc, most fruit will keep in the freezer for up to 9 months, so pick as much as you can and then you can freeze it and use it for homemade ice cream, as a culee, cheesecake in pies etc etc. Plus if you pick it early the bush will produce more fruit.
We have raspberry and blackberry bushes near us and I'm planning on getting quite a few batches frozen.
In fact at the mo I'm debating needing to get a huge deep freezer as I'm running out of room in my big normal freezer and my small chest freezer, so I think I mihgt need a huge deep freezer, is that a bit excessive?!!!

Oooh yes, I'm looking forwards to the blackberries too - have you made bleackberry ice cream before? It is even better than home-made strawberry (yes really!) although very messy to make! (kids look purple after'helping out' with this!)
