The Goon Show

I have to say Andy and I really like the goon show, we think its very funny, but haven't listened to any for years.

Well the other day Toby was singing a silly song, which sounded a bit like the Ying tong song and it started us off and so we found this.

There are some sample sketches on there including the infamous "What time is it Eccles" Sketch.

I have to say I do like the yodelling pirates and the he's fallen in the water comment, but if you've never heard the goons this will mean absolutely nothing to you whatsoever.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did this afternoon listening to some of the sketches. There's much talk in our house now on our next holiday of trying to get some cassettes for the car of the goon show to listen to on the way down. Though I think some of the humour is lost on our kids (not old enough yet) but they do like all the funny voices and silly sound effects, so I suppose it has universal appeal.

That he was I think he was in the same RAF or army thing as them and did some stuff with them, long before they were the goons, but he had a similar sense of humour so I'm told. So if any of you think I'm barmy I have a good case with genes!!!!!!

thanks for that, yep I'd found it, most cool, though they choose the sketch rather than being able to trawl the archives, but heh better than nothing
