Farmers markets and Fresh produce

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I shop and I am hoping to get into monthly shopping. I plan to get a big chest freezer and buy my meat monthly. I reckon if I organise our garage better I can put shelves on one side and store my dry groceries (or even under our stairs on shelves and in boxes. Or possibly do a costco shop with big value packs.

My only problem is fresh produce, I tried using an organic delivery service but I wasn't impressed not by a local deliverer who came round in a van. I suppose I like to look at the fruit and veg and choose it myself. The local supermarket just doesn't cut it and although I live near Bury Market I always find it a bit of a faff getting round with a buggy and parking etc.

Anyway to cut a long story short I have found a couple of farm shops in my area that I plan to start using if they work out OK.

I found a few sites that may help find ones local to you.

They are Big Barn, The Foody , and The Farm Produce Index

Just if you're interested I'll let you know how I get on.
