O Tannenbaum

Well we did it we have our Christmas tree up. That’s about it so far as one of the sets of lights has gone and although we’ve done the bulbs they aren’t working so we think new lights may be in order.

Got a bargain fake tree from Wilkos (great stuff), a 7ft slim one for £20. Which with 3 kids and lots of wonderful decs that they’ve made to go on them we will have to have a lot of tree that needs decorating in the coming years. Our last fake tree lasted us 10 Christmases so we were quite impressed by that, just see how long this one lasts. With it being so tall we’re trying to come up with ways to anchor it to the wall behind so that Hannah doesn't become a decoration!!!!!!

I really like getting the Christmas decorations out as every year the kids make stuff and every year we always buy a few new decs so every decoration has a memory of a specific Christmas for us which is wonderful getting them out, as you think about all those wonderful times and how wonderful it will be this Christmas. It’s exciting watching Hannah as its her 1st Christmas and in the shop her eyes nearly fell out of her head and she was for about 2–3 mins walking about with a box of mini crackers clutched in her arms saying teddy bear teddy bear. Most funny!!!

We’re slowly going to decorate the house with the kids doing different projects to remember what Christmas is all about and Jesus’ birthday so that’ll be exciting watching the house take shape as we make things and do things. First stop is a nativity scene to make the different characters we think to put up on the wall so need tog o get the card etc tomorrow for that. Then we can slowly make the different people in the story.
