Christmas

Well the time has come to start thinking about Christmas, not in a big way, but to start to prepare really.

Plans are going well so far for this year. The house is going to have lots of guests in it which is very cool, and people seem to be up fro the pressie idea which is cool.

Basically we have come more and more over the years to appreciate the fact that it is Jesus’ birthday and on anyone else’s birthday its about making them feel special and somehow at Christmas its often about getting for ourselves. We wouldn’t dream of doing that on someone else’s birthday so basically its finding a way of making ti more about Jesus for us. This year we’re going to hopefully pool most of the money we would have spent on pressies and invest in a big present from the World Vision great gifts catalogue. You can buy anything from a mosquito net for someone in another malaria stricken country, right up to a whole school and everything in between. Last year people bought us sole gifts of these and we thought it would be great to try and see if we could pool it together. I know Jesus says in the Bible about when you do something for the poor and needy its like doing it for him, so we figure that’s not a bad birthday gift really.

Hope that doesn't come across as all puffed up etc, just wanted to let other people know about it in case they thought it was a great idea for Christmas too. They send a card to the person stating that a gift has been bought for them from you and what the gift is.
