Oswaldtwistle Mills: East Lancashire's shopping village

I’ve been meaning to go to Oswaldtwistle Mills: East Lancashire's shopping village for ages. I saw it on a link from a parenting site as an all round family day out and I have to tell you it was.

It’s basically a really nice shopping village, but with unusual gifts, some clothes, home wares and bundles of craft stuff and a few other things. But there is also tonnes for the kids to do, there's a little sweet factory bit where you can actually watch the sweets being made and as an added bonus they put out some sweets to eat while you’re doing it YUM

There's several play areas, a wildfowl reserve (which is a big lake and walk with ducks swans etc), picnic areas, an indoor soft play area with slides etc etc, loads of cafes, and outdoor wooden adventure bit (quite small but very cool all the same)>

We had a fabulous time and would highly recommend it, if you take your own packed lunch a family of 5 can go into the sweet factory for £3 (its quite small but its still cool) and children under 4 go free. Pius the outdoor stuff is free. Not sure on the play area but the craft stuff kept my art loving boys enthralled and we spent a good while looking at stickers, the Mickey mouse and goofy diving ones were a definite hit!!!!!

Probably an afternoon out rather than a day out but if we’d taken our own lunch it would have cost us £3 for the afternoon as parking is free too. Few ideas for Christmas presents and too many ideas for card making LOL
