Craftsmen

Have been thinking a lot over the last couple of days about craftsmanship, ie the skills we can hone to best use in our characters to do the things we're meant to be doing.
I know that God has given me many gifts but in many of them I feel like I'm still doing an apprenticeship, but I suppose that's not a bad thing. I don't think there's areas yet where I haven't even applied for a college course as it were. It's just having the time sometimes to devote to these areas in my life that's the issue.

I know with a craftsman they spend many years honing their craft and its all in the detail of their work the things that maybe only they would notice. Someone was sharing with me the other day about the rose window in York minster and apparently you can't see the real details unless its taken down to be cleaned. I find that so incredible, only for the eyes of God as it were. I'd love my life to be more and more like that.
