Well it was a big day in our house yesterday we have picked mange tout and potatoes and runner beans and courgettes from our allotment in the last week, but we had our very first tomato from the greenhouse in there.
It was really exciting and Sam clutched it all the way home, now neither Andy or Toby like tomatoes but thought the slice they had of it was delicious, so much flavour and not too bitter.
We’re beginning to see a real return on our time and energy in the allotment so its great, be wonderful next year when we can put more time in and I am able to do more than prune and use a trowel LOL
will take some piccies of our tomatoes and update this in a few days but there is much excitement in our house at the mo waiting for the others that are obviously on their way to go red. We’re going down most days and harvesting stuff for tea its great fun. The mash the other night with our desiree potatoes alone was worth all the watering and weeding etc.
